There are different feelings surrounding the amount of exercise we should get on a daily basis, some people say 10 minutes per day others say an hour. Overall it takes effort to workout. You have to set time away from work, errands, etc to exercise. I work out mainly in the mornings before work. I get up at 5:30, walk my dog, grab some food and head out the door. This requires me to pack my clothes for work the night before. I shower and get ready at the gym 4-5 days a week. Would I rather sleep in and get ready at home? Yes, but I would rather be fit than 20 pounds heavier too. It’s a choice I make each morning.
You have to make a choice and commitment to make exercise a part of your life. It’s not easy. Start with 10 minutes a day and add more. I think 1 hour a day is a good balance. If you have a family, consider getting your children in on the program. Take a 1/2 hour walk in the morning with the dog and 1/2 hour after school with the kids. Or take a walk with coworkers during lunch. It’s a good break in the workout and can really help your stress level. I’ve also been known to do squats in the bathroom each time I go in. However you can fit it in. Little by little. Normally I do 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of weights. Woman should not be afraid to lift weights. I’ve been lifting heavy for 3 years and it’s so hard for women to gain muscle. But you will develop a more shapely body. I’d love to hear ways you have added exercise to your work day.
I’ve never heard anyone says I wish I didn’t go work out today. You’ll always feel better after a work out.
